Undergoing A Comprehensive Eye Exam

ReVision Optometry is the pioneering eye care practice in San Diego County to include the advanced diagnostic technologies – digital retinal imaging, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and an automated refraction system – all without any additional fee into its comprehensive eye examination. Our philosophy is to treat our patients as if they are friends and family, placing their interests first and foremost. To this end, we have made the high investment in technology for you and your family’s well-being and peace of mind.

A special camera allows the capture of high-resolution photographs of the retina, the light-sensitive lining inside the eye. The images enable the doctor to diagnose subtle diseases of the eye that can threaten your vision. These images become part of your exam record, available for future comparison.

Like an ultrasound, but using light waves instead of sound, an OCT of the retina non-invasively images the layers of the retina to help detect early macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Our sophisticated method of measuring for your eyeglass prescription electronically integrates the measurement of any old glasses (auto-lensometry) with an objective measurement of your eye focusing (autorefraction), a subjective analysis of your eye focusing (subjective refraction) and correlates these readings to your vision a digital visual acuity chart. The result is an accurate eyeglass prescription for clear, comfortable vision.

Understanding Your Eye Health

During your comprehensive eye exam, your doctor will carry out tests that will help them determine the overall health of the eye. The exams were created to identify eye conditions or diseases that a patient may be vulnerable to that could affect vision and health.
